525@Vine Building / Wexford Science & Technology
Wake Forest Innovation Quarters
Winston-Salem, North Carolina
This historic building was originally constructed in 1926 as a processing plant for RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company. As part of the revitalization of downtown Winston-Salem, the 234,000 SF/4-story building was renovated in conjunction with the connecting INMAR Headquarters Building.
Spaces within the building were refitted with new mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems, including a chiller plant, boiler plant, central AHU’s, roof top units, VAV air distribution, domestic hot water systems and lighting controls.
The mixed use lab and office building now provides space for tenants such as Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center’s Div. of Public Health Sciences and Department of Physician Assistant Studies, the YMCA, and Forsyth Technical Community College’s RJR Corporate Training Center, BB&T Biotechnology Program, Wells Fargo Nanotechnology Program, National Center for the Biotechnology Workforce, BioNetwork and Small Business Center.
