Pineville Elementary School

The new Pineville Elementary School opened for classes in August 2013 and was the first LEED-certified school in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District with a reflective roof, low-water usage urinals and toilets, bike racks and a sophisticated system for handling storm water. This new 2-story/ 80,000 SF replacement school provides 39 classrooms, special-area classrooms, a computer lab, a media center, a gym and cafeteria for elementary age students in Pineville, North Carolina.
McCracken & Lopez, P.A. Cx Group was responsible for the LEED Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning services for the new building. Energy related equipment including dedicated outdoor air units, AHU’s, air cooled chiller, condensing boilers, lighting controls, domestic hot water, generator, fire alarm, intercom & sound and security are systems that were fully commissioned.
